Stepping into the class IV range opens up a lot of beautiful rivers but can be quite intimidating. If you are a competent class III kayaker looking to expand your comfort zone and paddle more challenging, dynamic whitewater, then this is the course for you. This weekend program will focus on breaking down the skills required not only to make it down a rapid but to do it with style and grace. This course will focus on reading water, surfing holes, boofing, driving your boat, as well identifying bad habits, and improving on technique. In an intimate 1:2 instructor to student ratio paddlers will work towards achieving individual goals to help them become more competent and confident kayakers. Participants will gain the experience and foundation required to confidently approach class IV whitewater. A consistent & confident roll in class 3 whitewater is required for this course.
